Our judge, jamie j. mortara, has selected Get Home Safe by Elliott Sky Case of San Jose, CA as the winner of the 2016 Susan K. Collins/Mississippi Valley Poetry Chapbook Contest. Congratulations Elliott!
 
We had the pleasure to read a terrific group of manuscripts, and it was wonderfully difficult to select a group of finalists to send to our judge (see list of finalists). Several of these finalist manuscripts be appearing in print soon. MWC Press will be publishing Get Home Safe in fall 2017, with pre-orders beginning in October.

 Elliott Sky Case is a queer poet and visual artist, born in Los Angeles and based out of San Jose. Their work, which has appeared in The Wanderer and Cheers From The Wasteland, focuses on self-validation, finding God in small places, and riding public transit.
