SPECTRA Reading Series – National Poetry Month Virtual Reading Thurs. 4/22

SPECTRA Lives!

Join us on Thurs. 4/22 at 7pm CST for a special National Poetry Month celebration, featuring poets who have contributed to MWC’s partnership with Dead Poets Espresso, who are showcasing the work of local poets all throughout the month of April.

QC-based poets contributing to the project include:

Johnnie Woods, Shellie Moore Guy, Dee Robb, Melissa Conway, Elena Vallejo, Sal Marici, Sarah Mrock, Rodger Wilming, Joanne Wiklund, Todd Malcolm, Tony Cardoso, Philip Goldfarb Styrt, Mike Bayles, Ann Boaden, Faith Foley, Jean Slover Chellos, Emily Kingery, Hannah Rose Showalter, Chris Britton, and more.

The event will be held via Zoom and livestreamed to Facebook, and archived on MWC’s YouTube page. Event is free & open.

We’re excited to say that, starting next month, SPECTRA will return home to Rozz-Tox for a series of outdoor readings throughout the spring and summer, starting on May 22! Stayed tuned for more details about SPECTRA, the David R. Collins Writers’ Conference, and Young Emerging Writers coming soon.

The SPECTRA Reading Series is manifest thanks to the generous support of Illinois Humanities, the Illinois Arts Council Agency, and the estate of Mary Foster.
