The Midwest Writing Center is proud to announce a special virtual prose workshop on Wednesday, March 13, called “Time, Movement, & Memory: Charting Paths Without Plot.” The workshop will be led by award-winning writer Jeffrey Wolf of Chicago, IL. Complete workshop description included below.

“Time, Movement, & Memory: Charting Paths Without Plot” – Workshop Description:
Have you ever wanted to break the so-called “rules” of writing and experiment with your personal style? In this class, we’ll explore the craft tools for writing a freer, more unbound prose that remains grounded in the human experience while revisiting those age-old questions: What keeps us reading? How do we translate the genuine, complex experiences of life onto the page with meaning and authenticity? What if the stories we want to tell don’t follow cause-and-effect logic? We’ll approach writing with a more emotional logic, with organic structures and associational leaps, where we can beguile the reader with true theater of the mind.
Instructor Bio:
Jeffrey Wolf is a fiction writer from Chicago. He has been awarded artist residencies in Iceland, Sweden, and at MWC, as well as a fellowship grant from the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture. He was a finalist for the Arkansas International Emerging Writer’s Prize, and his writing has appeared in Prairie Schooner, Tupelo Quarterly, Bat City Review, Jewish Fiction, and elsewhere. He has an MFA from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and teaches at Columbia College Chicago.
