Midwest Writing Center (MWC), the only literary arts 501c3 non-profit in the Quad City region, is participating in #GivingTuesday to raise funds for our 2017 operations and programs, including our annual Writers’ Conference, Children’s Literature Festival, Young Emerging Writers (YEW) Summer Internship Program for high school students and YEW Middle School Camp, SPECTRA Poetry Reading Series, and many other programs and opportunities for readers & writers.
MWC also recently moved to our new location inside the Rock Island Public Library, and we are hoping to raise funds to update our facilities and technology as well, to better maximize our use of this new space, and to better work with the Library and other community partners to expand the reach of our programs and serve more readers and writers in the Quad City community and beyond.
Your gift during our #Giving Tuesday campaign (November 29-December 31) provides the MWC with the means to increase access to high-quality literary arts programming throughout our community.
Every dollar that you invest in the Midwest Writing Center will matched dollar-for-dollar up to $2,000 with a contribution to our endowment at the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend through a grant from an anonymous donor, so your gift goes twice as far and help MWC in the near- and long-terms.
You can mail your donation to MWC, c/o RIPL, 401 19th St., Rock Island, IL 61201; or you can call us at (309) 732-7330 to make a donation; or you can make a donation on our #GivingTuesday page, or by using the PayPal link below. Thank you for supporting MWC!
