MWC Offers New Writing Group — Memory Keepers starts 3/13

MWC Offers New Opportunity–Memory Keepers

One of the greatest gifts you can give to your children and future generations is to keep your family stories alive. Please join our new Memory Keepers Group as we come together with a common interest and goal to preserve our family stories through the written word.

The plan is to have a monthly in-person meeting where we will share tips on how to organize our stories, offer support and motivation to each other, and to do some writing.

The first meeting will be March 13th from 1:00-2:30. at the Midwest Writing Center located on the ground floor of the downtown Rock Island Public Library, 401 19th St., Rock Island.

Everyone is invited and welcome. There is no cost and writing experience is not necessary.

Your hostess will be, Susan Collins, long time MWC board member, former high school teacher, former Black Hawk College Continuing Professional Education Coordinator, and community volunteer and supporter. Susan has led workshops on the topic “Getting Control of Your Life” and  “Writing Your Legacy Letter” as well as leading strategic planning initiatives. She received the Quad City Caring Award in 2010 from the QC Community Foundation.

If you have questions or wish to sign up, please contact Susan Collins at susancollins2520@gmail.com.
