Midwinter Day: A Virtual Reading to Benefit Bernadette Mayer — December 22, 6pm CST

Join us to celebrate the anniversary of Midwinter Day and to benefit poet Bernadette Mayer, “the mother of us all.” Over forty years after Mayer composed the book-length poem on one winter day in 1978, writing organizations across the country are joining forces to host readings in honor of foundational feminist poet Bernadette Mayer. This year the Midwest Writing Center and Iowa City Poetry are teaming up to host the event in Iowa.

So, in the spirit of community, I thought I would share a handful of quotes from the MWC community, to share more about the importance of our work and the impact it has on people’s lives…
