The series will meeting each Wednesday in February from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Bucktown Center for the Arts. Participants will have the opportunity “to have their final scenes read at New Ground Theatre for an invited audience.” Here’s a complete description:

“This is a great beginning course, or a brush-up for those who have written plays before.  Over four two-hour workshops, writers will learn basic playwriting format and guidelines.  Students will practice writing in dramatic form with fun in-class writing exercises.  The goal of the class will be to complete a short one-act or monologue.  Students can elect to have their final scenes read at New Ground Theatre for an invited audience.”

Thanks to the support of the Riverboat Development Authority, MWC is able to offer this workshop free to college/graduate students. Registration for non-students is $50 for MWC members, $75 for non-members.

Please contact Ryan Collins at MWC, 563-324-1410 // mwc@midwestwritingcenter.org, for more information about this workshop, or to register over the phone.
