Please join us on Wednesday, April 10th as we welcome author, educator, and medievalist. urban will read from her work, talk about craft, following the reading will be a question and answer opportunity. Misty Urban is the author of two short story collections, A LESSON IN MANNERS and THE NECESSARIES, as well as recent stories appearing from Write Out Publishing and 3Elements Review. She has been awarded the Great River Writer’s Retreat and the David R. Collins Literary Achievement Award from the Midwest Writing Center. Along with creative nonfiction she has published several works of medieval scholarship, including a co-edited volume of essays on the fairy woman Melusine. She teaches writing at Muscatine Community College, manages femmeliterate.net, and is current president of Writers on the Avenue. In her spare time she writes historical fiction.
