Announcing the Rock Town Lit Fest, a new event that celebrates literature in the QC!
The Rock Town Lit Fest is a two-day celebration of literature in our community,
The first day of the Rock Town Lit Fest will feature a lit crawl around downtown Rock Island on Friday, May 5th from 6-9pm, featuring readings from local and regional poets and writers. The lit crwal will start at the Midwest Writing Center and end at Rozz-Tox, with a second location in-between TBA, and will be followed by an after-party at Rozz-Tox.
On Saturday, May 6th, the Rock Island Public Library will host a book fair from 10am-4pm. There will be panel discussions and readings scheduled throughout the day.
All the Rock Town Lit Fest events are free and open to the public. Complete information on participating authors, publishers, panel discussion topics, and times for readings will be announced soon.
If you are an author/publisher/etc. interested in participating, please fill out the form linked below and return to MWC via email or USPS at MWC, c/o RIPL, 401 19th St., Rock Island, IL 61201. You can register over the phone at 309-732-7330. The Rock Island Public Library requests that all participating authors/publishers donate at least one copy of a book to the their permanent collection–beyond that, there is no cost to participate.
