Each of us has a story and it is a story only we can tell. The voice we each have is powerful and worth sharing. Learning how to render your heart on the page is one of the most helpful skills one can possess because you’ll always have that as a means of processing joys, hurts, or all that comes in between.
This six-week generative writing workshop is intended for womxn and femme identifying participants who want a brave space to share your poetry, stories, nonfiction, and more! Join this workshop to participate in reflective and interesting writing prompts to help rediscover and strengthen your inner passion and cultivate your voice. We’ll delve into the seeds of writing (where inspiration comes from, the roots of your poem or story) and by the end of our time together we’ll grow something beautiful. It doesn’t matter what level you’re at, if you’re just starting, curious, or have been writing for years, you’ll rediscover the power of writing in this workshop.
Instructor Bio:
Tanaya Winder is an author, singer / songwriter, poet, motivational speaker and educator who comes from an intertribal lineage of Southern Ute, Pyramid Lake Paiute, and Duckwater Shoshone Nations where she is an enrolled citizen. Winder’s poetry collections include Words Like Love and Why Storms are Named After People and Bullets Remain Nameless. Tanaya’s performances and talks emphasize the importance of “heartwork” – the life path one is meant to follow by using his/her/their gifts and passions. She blends storytelling, singing, and spoken word to teach about different expressions of love (self love, intimate love, social love, community love, and universal love).
